Miami International Airport has many different parking options to suit individual requirements. It is best to find out more information on the various parking options before leaving for the airport. Knowing exactly where to park could help you avoid frustrations in searching for an open space and help you to save money. Parking in the wrong area, for instance short-term parking instead of economy long-term parking can end up being unnecessarily expensive.

It is possible to book a parking space in advance, similar to booking a hotel room! This can save a huge amount of stress and one can benefit from low reservation rates. Reservations can be made through the internet. You will need to pay online for one day of parking to secure your parking space. On your arrival, a shuttle will help you get to the airport entrance required, free of charge.

Off-site parking is available near most major airports. Commercial off-site parking lots are a good option to consider as they often offer low prices and are also available for advance bookings. Even though they are usually situated further from the airport, it will not pose any problems as they offer 24-hour security and a shuttle service to the airport. Airport hotels will also offer park and stay deals, although do make sure that the parking lot is safe, as they sometimes don’t offer day and night security like the commercial and airport lots.

Parking facilities at Miami International Airport can be divided into four different sections:

• Pick up / Drop off – Cell Phone Parking Lot
• Short-term Parking Lots
• Long-term Parking Garages – Dolphin and Flamingo
• Other Parking including Valet Parking and Economy Park and Ride

The Pick up or Drop off area offers 60 spaces for visitors. This is a free Cell Phone Lot and can be accessed from Le Jeune Road from whichever way you are driving. It is the most convenient area to park when waiting for the arrival of friends, family members or business colleagues.

Short-term Parking Lots are available for daytime parking only. There is an upper and lower area for Short-term Parking. The upper area gives easy access to the North Terminal and the Central Terminal on both Departure and Arrival Levels. The lower area is located for easy access to the South Terminal on the Arrivals Level only. Take note that in order to park in these lots, all vehicles and baggage in the vehicle will be liable for inspection.

The Long-term Dolphin and Flamingo Garages can both be entered via Central Boulevard. Both Garages facilitate the Arrivals or Departure Levels of Miami Airport. The Dolphin Garage is available for the North Terminal and the Flamingo Garage for the South Terminal. Vehicle and baggage inspection will be necessary.

Parking attendants will see to your vehicle in the Valet Parking area. You will receive a valet parking ticket and the parking attendant will proceed to park your care and look after your keys. Let the parking attendant know when you will be returning.

The Economy Park and Ride section at Miami Airport has a free shuttle bus service operating every 10 – 15 minutes.

It is easier to drop passengers with their baggage at the curbside before parking. This eliminates the hassle of having baggage checked while trying to find parking. Beware though, that vehicles parked at the curbside and left unattended will be towed!

Parking facilities for disabled persons are located near the moving sidewalks on the garage’s 3rd level. Extra disabled permit parking is available on the Ground Level of the Dolphin Garage. Over-height vehicles should use the ‘High-Vehicle’ Surface Lot Parking area located near the East side of the Flamingo Garage.
